CIRCLE CITY RINGERS
Identity and Print Design

The Circle City Ringers is a bronze-level community handbell ensemble located in Indianapolis, Indiana. I joined CCR in 2006 as a ringer, have served several terms on the Board of Trustees, and have been providing identity and print design services to the organization off and on over the years.

2024 marked our 20-year anniversary, so I created a t-shirt to commemorate the event. Our colors are black, maroon, and gold, with white accents. I wanted to use a t-shirt color that would contrast nicely with either maroon or gold, and would also convey a sense of professionalism. This meant I decided to steer away from pastel or neon colors. (I'm looking at you, neon green!) I chose a medium heather gray color for the shirt, and gold for the main color. I helped design our logo used on the shirt back in 2006. It's a stylized vibrating bell, but also contains the letters CCR. Clever, huh?
We used to have a table top presentation trifold that we sat on a marketing table in the lobby of our performance venues. (This was circa 2009.) When it came due to update the group photos on the trifold for the umpteenth time, I decided maybe it was time for a change. I traded in the trifold for a retractable banner that (when retracted into its stand) is a fraction of the size of the trifold, making it easy to transport, and doesn't require a marketing table to sit on. The banner is 72 inches tall when open, and sits on the floor. Huzzah!

I did not have any images available that had the resolution needed to work on a banner that large, so I created a vector illustration of a bell that I could size with impunity. A small QR code that is functional from 3-4 feet away and which links to our website finished the design. "Bells like you've never heard them before" is our slogan, and it's completely true. You should follow the link below and check out our performance videos.
As well as print design, I also provide occasional content for our social media. Below is a recent time lapse video I created of our setup before a performance. We have sixteen members, including our director, and it takes all of us pitching in to set up and tear down.
